What Causes Cough And Throat Irritation?
I m male, age 70, no known pre-existing conditions, non-smoker, no known family history of disease, and exercise frequently. Been experiencing for few (about 3) weeks-- mild intermittent dry cough, throat irritation (mild so far), some indigestion/burping (more recently), fatigue/difficulty sleeping (have had this for years), fatigue (somewhat more than usual), sneezing more than usual, red/bloodshot eyes on doing cardio exercise, particularly if intense (have had this for a while also but eyes appear more bloodshot these days).

Cough and expectoration may be due to infection or intestinal lung disease or post nasal drip or pneumonia etc.
Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Avoid spicy food and alcohol avoid smoking and caffeine drinks.
Use tablet Pantoprazole.
Get examined for cardiac failure which may cause cough due to water in lungs.
If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
