What Causes Constant Numbing And Tingling Sensation In The Hands?

Hi. I am a 47 yr. old female. About a year ago I have been waking up in the morning with numbness in my right hand and my doctor said it was carpel tunnel syndrome. Now I have been waking up with numbness during the night that goes beyond a tingling feeling. It feels like my fingers have been put in a vice and are getting no circulation; although there is no blue/purple discoloration in the finger nails that would point to poor circulation. The numbness in my hand is now happening 24/7 non-stop. If I try to pick up/use my right fingers it is even more painful and I feel like I might end up dropping something because of the pain and numbness. Help!

Thanks for asking me this question.

You mention that you have carpal tunnel syndrom.
With carpal tunnel syndrom other abnormalities are also present so first rule out it.

Constant presence of numbers and pain also because of nerve compression or nerve diseases.

Check your blood sugar level if it is high than it indicate that diabetes present.
In diabetes neropathy is most common complication.

Do your TSH level.if it increase that indicate hypothyroidism.

Wish you a good health.
Thanks.
