Hi,
When we speak of a headache, we say that it exists:
1) Primary
Headaches and
2) Secondary Headaches.
When we talk about Primary Headaches we have a
tension headache,
migraine headache,
cluster headache mainly.
When we speak of Secondary Headaches, it means that the headache is the product of some other disorder, illness, previous trauma. Regarding your first question:
What causes a headache, nausea and neck pain? I could answer you, any of the mentioned headaches (taking into account the headache as a diagnosis and not just a symptom) To answer your next question: is the accident the cause of this?
The answer could be yes, just as the answer may be no. The odds are there.
I suggest that due to your background, you should attend an appointment with a
neurologist, because, in order to have peace of mind and a clear diagnosis, you should have a good physical assessment and perhaps other studies that the neurologist requests.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Luis Alberto Urdaneta Arenas, General & Family Physician
