Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Cognitive Dysfunction While On Triliptal?
I am on Triliptal for neuropathy but it is no longer working, I am so fatigued I can barely participate in life and can only do thought process situations for about 20 minutes. As a college graduate R.N., this is quite distressing. Though I am 65, I can still THINK, just get overwhelmed easily. Can the Triliptal be responsible? What else can be given for neuropathy not related to diabetes? My feet are in agony!
Yes, fatigue and thought process disturbance are very common side effects of Triliptal. This is used for neuropathy. There are other better alternative of Triliptal such as pregabalin and gabapentin. Pregabalin and gabapentin have better safety profile. These are prescription based medicine and you need written prescription from a registered physician. Advice 1. Stop Triliptal 2. Take pregabalin or gabapentin 3. Methylcobalamin 500 mcg once daily per oral for 3 months I hope this information will help you. I will be happy if you ask another question Thank
