Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve had the feeling of clogged ears for about 2 1/2-3 weeks. The pressure seems to shift from ear to ear, back & forth ever so often. Went to walk in clinic 2 weeks ago & they prescribed me corridor in anti inflammatory ear drops but said they saw no infection, just inflamed ear canals. Took some Allegra D for a week & seemed to go away. I ran out of the allergy medicine & then clogged feeling came back. Is this just allergies or could it be something worse?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
This clogged feeling can be secondary to:- - Persistent allergy. Here apart from anti allergic drug histamine blocker pills are given. - Recurrent sinus involvement - Need anti-allergic with decongestant & vapor inhalation. - Miner injury to ear drum causing it's inflammation where both nasal & ear drops (anti-inflammatory) would help with anti inflammatory pills otc. - Some neurogenic cause like spondylitis at cervical spine will show such a symptom. It needs specified treatment with physiotherapy. Please discuss this with your ENT doctor & get specified & suitable treatment after actual physical examination
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
