Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain severe cough along with phlegm can be due to causes like upper respiratory tract infection, bronchitis, lung infection, etc..

Secondly black spots on sides of tongue can be due to staining with the medication or can be due to improper maintenance of oral hygiene leading to deposits of debris and dead cells over the tongue..

I would suggest you to consult a Pulmonologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like chest x ray, sputum culture etc can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
She can be given antibiotics, anti allergics like Levocetrizine, mucolytics like Ambroxol, and also do steam inhalation, warm chest compresses etc..
Take cough expectorant containing Gueifenesin and cough suppressant containing Dextromethorphan..

For dark spots on tongue consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and he can do a clinical examination and treatment can be done accordingly..
As of now you can start gargling with hydrogen peroxide solution and also do warm saline gargles..
Use a tongue scraper to clean the tongue..
Eat more of raw foods to clean the tongue by frictional action..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
