What Causes Chronic Leg Pain With A Titanium Rod In Femur?

Had a titanium rod put in left femur 6 years ago. Had issues with aching off and on for a few years. Now the pain is constant and limping all the time. Do you think the rod is causing the pain? Been to chiropractor and ruled out that. Two times due to severe leg pain my back kidney area also had bad pain for about an hour.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

The pain is not related to the titanium rod. Anyway, I recommend performing a leg X-ray study coupled with a lumbar spine X ray study and inflammation tests (complete blood count, PCR, ESR). An infection can not be excluded either.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
