Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Chronic constipation may not be caused by hypochondroplasia dwarfism as body organs will form with respect to your need.Possible causes of chronic constipation may include:
-Blockages in the colon or rectum by medical conditions like masses or stricture. With a history of polyp, poor progress of stool in colon and rectum may explain your constipation.
-Problems with the nerves around the colon and rectum like in Autonomic neuropathy, Multiple sclerosis, Spinal cord injury
-Difficulty with the muscles involved in elimination like in anismus and dyssynergia
-Conditions that affect hormones in the body like Diabetes, hyperparathyroidism, hypothyroidism..
There are just so many causes that may not even be related to your underlying condition(dwarfism).I will advise you try the following:
*Eat well and healthy and avoid much dry and fast food
*Take enough water and fluids
*Take enough fruits like soft pawpaw and avoid fruits like bananas that may instead constipate you the more
*Get in to regular physical activities
*Add some fiber in to your diet
*In severe cases, you may take a laxative like duphalac
You may also see a Gastrologist to evaluate you and take care of your polyps or any other obstruction to smooth flow of stool.
Hope this will help you
Best regards
