What causes choking on saliva and neck pain after thyroid removal?

I had a total thyroid removal about 5 years ago and a total hystorectomy 3 months prior to the thyroid. I am now 48 years, 135 lbs., and 5 2 tall. I am having alot of the same discomforts that I did before the thyroid removal, like choking on my saliva and or water, exhaustion, acid reflux, and sometimes sharp pains on left side of my neck. I just got bloodwork back today and of course everything is in normal range. When I had my thyroid removed the doctor said that it was actually strangeling me and wrapped around my vocal cords and airway.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Consulting with an ENt specialist for a physical exam is necessary, followed by a cervical MRI, in order to examine the soft tissues in the neck.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
