What Causes Chills Without Fever After The Surgery?

I had a benign tumor removed from my calf. I have this crater in my calf that has to heal now. But my question is that since the surgery I have had chills but no fever. The surgeon said there was no signs of infection in the wound. Not sure what is going on.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
1 Chills without fever is also common in septicemia ( in very early stage ) . Diagnosis can be confirmed by blood culture and drug sensitivity test .As I have noted in my many patient that they feels shivering ( chills ) even without fever due to some foreign particles entered in blood .
2 Malaria is another most common cause of such type of chills , so get in blood film for Malarial parasite.
3 As you mentioned that wound is neat and clean . In deep in the wound there may be some infection so get in it be examined thoroughly . So consult one more surgeon and get his opinion.
Deal as mentioned above.
Good luck.
