Question: Hello, I have a bump of skin (looks pink and fleshy) hanging from my right tonsil. I first noticed it in July, and went to see a Doctor who gave me antibiotics, though it did not change seem to affect the bump of skin on my tonsil. Today (now October), I've taken a look at it, and it looks a bit larger then it did in July.

Brief Answer:
Tonsillar lump

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

i check the pictures attached.
it looks to be single sided tonsil, a lymph node with nodulations and highly vascular.
The best thing to do right now is to get this excised by an ENT surgeon.
The lymph node be sent for biopsy for knowing it's nature.
See an ENT surgeon now.

Thanks. Can you please show to one of your ENT specialists and ask them if it looks possibly cancerous from my HD photo? I can provide more photos if need be. Please let me know.

Brief Answer:
curbside consult

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I showed the picture to an ENT surgeon. In his opinion a surgical biopsy is ideal at this time. Appearances may be deceptive in cancers. What looks benign tumor may turn cancers at any time. What looks cancerous can be benign as well.
Biopsy is like the supreme judgement in cases of suspicious cancers.
