Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am having some symptoms of chills in mostly the lower legs sometimes higher and pin stick feelings sometimes as well. I have had lots of physical testing lately and they are relating it to stress/anxiety. I am go on 65 this year. Do you have a different answer?
Hello There are many causes of the sensation of chills and pin stick in your lower legs. The most important causes: peripheral neuropathy, which should be confirmed by a test called EMG - vascular disease (diagnosed by echo Doppler) or poor vascular circulation caused by diabetes which should be diagnosed by measuring of fasting blood sugar and glycated haemoglobin. After rolling out all those possible causes and after doing all the necessary tests, if everything is normal in that case the anxiety/stress might be the cause.
I suggest that you should have confidence in your doctor and be aware at the same time to any new symptom that help the diagnosis. Hope I answered your question Wish you a speedy recovery Best regards Dr. Noor Farid
