What Causes Chills Along With Shivering Even In Hot Climates?

Hi; every night I feel like I m freezing, even when it s 76 degrees in the house. Mostly my feet, but often times my whole body shakes. I have also lost about 17 lbs. in the last 2 months or so; my appetite seems ok , although I only eat usually 1 meal a day. Any ideas? Thanks, Tom

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear Tom,

it could be that you are having a slight fever which might cause the freezing and body shakes. The combination of potential fever/ temperature and weight loss is a reason to have a doctor examine you, and do a routine blood test for inflammation. Also an ultrasound of the abdomen has to be suggested to rule out any inflammation in the abdominal area. Other tests can follow depending on what the doctor will find in the physical examination. Hope this is helping you , if you have any clarificatons you can get back to me, if this was helpful please kindly rate my answer. Best regards
