What Causes Chills, Abdominal Cramps And Nausea While On Contraceptive Pills?
Hi i am Jane..i am 23 years old..i was bleeding for 16 days i went to see a doctor and she advised me to take minigynon twice daily. after my first dose i had side effects such as chills, abdominal cramps nausea and vomiting. i called her the next day and she said i should desist. but the bleeding had stopped for three days with just the first dose but it recommenced 4days later. i went back and i was put on provera once daily, which has helped the bleeding. i went back when my period was finished to do a pap smear and it was very painful(think she was rough). n two days after i saw bleeding when i inserted an applicator with meds(cream) due to she saying i have a mild yeast infection..i only see blood when i urinate and wipe (its not in the urine though). i am wondering what could have caused this. please help, thnx in advance
Hi there,I have understood your concern and I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.
First of all do not panic. Your abdominal pain and nausea and vomiting can be due to female hormonal contents of the pills. If you are still getting the same, please seek prescription support from your treating doctor for antiemetic like Ondensetron and antacid like Omeprazole. This will help you to get rid of your symptoms.
Secondly,, your minimal blood stained discharge can be due to cervical erosion and or polyp. Please seek prescription support for broad spectrum antibiotic like Doxycycline for a week, and vaginal suppositories containing Clotrimazole and Clindamycin. If all does not help then calposcopy and VIA- visual examination of cervix with Acetic acid is advisable.
I hope this answer helps you. Thanks. Dr. Purushottam Neurgaonkar
