Hi,
Welcome to the HCM
Brief.. Rolandic partial seizure ( epilepsy) ..is to be ruled out.
Detailed abswer...
There are some criteria which has to be differentiated between night mare and rolandic partial seizure ..for example if child remembers in the morning that what he had seen in dream at night and is fine in the morning then it is more likely a nightmare. And if child does not remember ,anything in the morning and seems to be tired and lethargic then it can be partial seizure type and has to be evaluated by EEG and discussing with neurologist further.
