General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Since your 22 year old has a history of smoking marijuana he may develop chest pain as cannabinoids cause elevated heart rate, dilated blood vessels that make the heart pump harder. Peeling fingernails is indicative of vitamin D and calcium deficiency. It may also be due to severe iron deficiency anemia. Mouth sores may be indicative of vitamin B12 and iron deficiency. However, if sexually active he should get STD tests done to stay on the safer side.

Chronic use of cannabis affects the receptors in the brain and bowel causing delayed gastric emptying that may trigger peptic ulcer. You are suggested to get him clinically examined and treated at the earliest. He can take PPI's (one SOS when needed) for relieve from stomach discomfort. He should get a complete health check up done. Get all blood workouts to check HB% and other issues. He should take home made food and adequate sleep. Help him detox, get connected with a detox center.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
