What Causes Burning Sensation, Tingling And Discomfort In The Left Foot?

Hi I have developed this strange sensation: burning, tingling and discomfort on my left foot, in the middle towards the inside. it is more bothersome while sitting. I work sitting all the time so this is not new or more excessive. It is bothersome enough that it is disturbing my attention with my patients.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The abnormal sensations are likely due to peripheral neuropathy which refers to abnormal function of the peripheral nerves (those outside of the brain and spinal cord).

It can be temporary or permanent and there are different possible causes such as : (1) diabetes
(2)trauma to the nerves at a point along their path
(3)low vitamin 12 or folate
(4)liver or kidney disease
(5)abnormal level of vitamin b6
(6)thyroid disease
(7)side effect of medication
(8)autoimmune diseases
(9)ms or stroke

Blood tests along with imaging of the spine , initially by x ray, are needed to determine the cause.

I hope this helps
