What Causes Burning Sensation In The Foot While Treating He Herniated Disc?

I have burning pain on the right side of my foot and on top of my foot. It feels like when I take a step that I have an electrical shock like hitting your crazy bone on the bottom right side of my foot. The bottom of my foot also feel like there is a knot on the right side as well. Could the foot pain be caused from a herniated disc at L5-S1? Or do you believe it is the peroneal nerve and inflamation of the facia?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Herniated disc at the level of L5-S1 can impinge or compress the spinal nerves emanating from the spinal cord.

Compression of nerve roots can cause various symptoms like tingling sensation, burning sensation or pain in the area of distribution.

I suggest you consult your orthopedician for treatment of herniated disc.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
