What Causes Burning Sensation And Pain On The Scars Caused Due To Shingles?

I came down with shingles the end of March. Most scabs are gone, but left with scarring. I had the blistering rash from my spine to my naval on my left side. I am now experiencing the burning sensation where scars are. The pain is also in areas, past the scarring, where there was nothing (past my naval and past my spine). I m left with quite a bit of numbness and burning in these areas after two months. Is there anything that can be done to heal the numbness and burning sensation? I m also a little concerned that this illness has lastedso long. Is this an uncommon occurrence?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

* As per my surgical experience, the shingles do give long-term burning, tingling, numbness over the healed parts as well as other segmental regions of nerve supply.
* Ice applications, anti-inflammatory drugs, neurologic medications as methylcobalamin, Pregabalin will support greatly in faster recovery. I would like to admire your further doubts anytime.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
