General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Burning in foot radiating to the ankle bone towards toe is indicative of nerve damage (peripheral neuropathy). Sometimes, skin infection causes temporarily burning or inflamed feet. Nerve damage is also caused by diabetes, exposure to toxins and alcohol use.

Certain B vitamin deficiencies or HIV infection may also cause similar symptoms. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, get all investigations, blood tests, imaging tests and biopsy and nerve conduction tests done. You will be treated accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
