I have a random bump appear on top left side of my lip, it has no color and no pain just looks like i bit myself but didnt; what could it possibly be? Also i had an allergic reaction to unasyn that i took because i had swelling around my left side of the face due to an infection in my tooth, could the bump be apart of the allergic reaction?
Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic
The bump could possibly be related to labial herpes/cold sore. It is unlikely that an allergic reaction to an oral medication would present this way. Oro-labial herpes is cause by a virus, Hsv type 1 virus. The virus is acquired by intimate contact with an infected partner e.g kissing and exchange of saliva. The virus can remain silent and may cause an eruption of fluid filled bumps from time to time. The eruption of herpes usually presents as a single or a cluster of bumps, which are fluid filled; they rupture soon to leave a raw area. In case of labial herpes there may be future recurrences, specially in response to a stress like fever, infection or premenstural. I suggest you to visit a dermatologist for a confirmatory diagnosis and for appropriate treatment.
