General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Brown or red discharge is due to bleeding from vaginal canal or cervix;
it can also occur due to infection, exposure to chemicals, allergy due to condom(latex), rough intercourse, PID, birth control pills, cervical cancer, gonorrhea or trauma. Yes, sometimes it can be a sign of pregnancy.

Visit ER, get physically examined, get pregnancy test done. If your pregnancy test is negative then get all STD tests along with CBC and urinalysis done, get evaluated, get treated.
Avoid sex for a couple of days.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K,
