Hello and many thanks! I have been taking Benicar for years. Due to my insurance and increase of my Benicar at like $221 or close per month as of Jan, 2016, my doctor tried me on a generic of Diovan. Oh yes, with Diovan, I had pumps, rash on my back and other areas itching and driving me crazy. I allowed it to get so bad before my daughter requested I read the side effects. I just assumed the drug was not the problem. Lesson learned, I should have put that together. Now that I am on the generic of Benicar, could that be my problem again. Benicar itself seems to be good and I have no problem. Last year in late Feb, I contacted the drug company and they graciously gave it to me through Dec,2016. Then my prescription was automatically filled in Jan of this year with this generic. Now my back and other areas are broken out and itching as before. Could this be happening with the generic of Benicar which is Olmesartan HCTZ 40-12.5mg? What must I do, what can my doctor recommend for my BP. I would treasure your input.
