Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Blood in sputum may be due to tracheal irritation or bronchiectasis or tuberculosis or av malformation etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Get it done bronchoscopy or HRCT to confirm the cause of bleeding.

Send sputum examination, oral examination and upper GI endoscopy examination.

Please consult your gastroenterologist/ pulmonologist they will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Penchila Prasad Kandikattu , Internal Medicine Specialist
