Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 22 years old. Male. Over the last one week i have felt that my stool was a bit hard to pass. When i would clean up with a tissue i could see small traces of blood. So i decided to eat more fibre items and it seemed to get better over the last couple of days. However today i woke up at an odd timing 2am and used the bathroom only to realize that my underwear had blood stains on it and each time i cleaned up with a tissue there was blood stains on it. I did feel hard to pass the stool so im not sure if this is because of a lack of fibre intake or if it is something serious. I have never had this problem till now. Will taking medicine to make my stool pass easily help or make things worse?
Hello dear I understand your concern Your symptoms could be due to the constipation, piles, diverticulitis, inflammatory disorder. You have require proper medical assessment. Take stool softner like lactulose syrup for 1-2 week. If it not resolves then I would suggest to consult the gastoenterologist and undergo fecal calprotectin test, rectal examination and colonoscopy to rule out the other causes. Other treatment will depend on the specific cause. Hope this will help you
