Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter started having black outs when she was 15yrs...now 28yrs...they are now getting worse, more often and now has tingling, numbness in arms and hands..sometimes pain behind her eyes...she takes deep breaths and sits downs and recovers..they are random. At 15yrs we had ,MRI S blood work..saw a neurologist. Could find anything..thought maybe panic attacks or anxiety....she has no insurance..very worried about her...she just told me this a few days ago. I did not know the blackouts were getting worse. What are your thoughts? When I hit proceed..I see I have to pay..I will have to wait...not able to do anything at this time. Thank you.
If even after doing all of the investigations nothing is coming out as proper diagnosis then condition could be related to a functional brain disorder. It can be called a personality disorder. In this person undergoes severe mental stress or severe depression without reasonable causes. It leads to sudden fall episodes with anterograde amnesia. Usually, he/she recovers maximum within 24 hours.
We can not even predict this type of episodes. This condition requires proper counseling and behavioral therapy from psychiatrist or psychologist. In short, these type of personalities does not come up with social or emotional stresses. Better to avoid such situations among them.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
