my father had continuous vomiting 2 days back where in he vomited everything he ate in the dinner.later on we noticed that his vomiting is black in colour and has some lumps in it.what can be the possible reason.he is a paraplegic patient for the past 25 years
This is classical case of upper gi bleed. Those lumps are nothing but blood clots. Coffee color vomiting is seen in various cases like 1.peptic ulcers. Most common cause 2.cancer stomach 3.nsaid drug usage 4.varices 5.portal hypertension etc. Better to get upper gi endoscopy. Hope this helps
