I am having shortness of breath and exstream weakness. Being treated for asthma. But pulmonary function test came back normal. Have a pain in my mid back that the chiropractor adjusts often. Today I was having the pain in my back and trouble breating. I used my inhaler and almost immediately the pain in my back was gone. Could the two be related?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Of course, the difficulty breathing and back pain can be related to each other. You should do a spirometry and a X-ray to check lung function and structure. Asthma may be present and any other respiratory infection coexisting with it.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
