Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a large red circle on my thigh. I thought it was an ingrown hair and tried to squeeze it. Nothing. A few days later a bump appeared, but still no drainage. A few days later out of frustration i used a pocket knife to open it but just dark blood came out. Now i have an open wound that leaks clear fluid, is still a bump and today became hot. To make matters worse. Ive developed a rash that looks like pimples on my inner thigh that are itchy and drain clear fluid. Help!
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itchy red rash on the thigh which could be due to bacterial infection of hair follicle leading to folliculitis. Need not to worry. I would suggest to apply moderately potent topical steroid of triamcinolone acetonide 0.1% cream twice daily at affected sites. Take proper course of antibiotics to suppress infection. You should visit dermatologist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription. Take tablet of cetirizine 10 mg once daily for symptomatic relief from itching. Avoid itching and pricking these rashes.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
