What Causes An Internal Vaginal Pain?

Hi: I’m writing on behalf of my wife, who doesn’t do well with doctors. She’s 42 years old and has had two children, now ages 12 and 8. She has been experiencing interior vaginal pain for more than seven months now, ranging from discomfort to fairly intense pain. She describes it as so swollen that it feels like it’s in a vise, and it’s also extremely raw. She’s also likened it to the vaginal equivalent of a constant sore throat, and it’s definitely affecting her overall quality of life. She went to her OB/GYN not long after this started, and her doctor said that there was nothing structurally wrong. The doc has frankly not been much help since. Ideally, she’d like something that can end this, but at the very least is there anything that can alleviate the pain from the symptoms? She calls it flat-out debilitating at times. She tried the premarin but that actually made it worse. I have to believe there’s something available that could at least ease the pain. Vagisil and other over-the-counter items have been ineffective. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I can understand your concern for your symptoms, vaginal discomfort or pain are common in:

1. Vaginal infection is one of the common issues, since you already had a gynecologist visit we can rule out.

2. Vaginal dryness can be caused by less foreplay, forceful sex, the infection can also cause this issue.

So you can increase your foreplay or find ways to give your partner orgasm before you insert your penis.

3. The vaginal polyp can be diagnosed by a gynecologist which can cause painful sex or bleeding during sex.

4. The premenopausal stage can also cause dryness and painful coitus. kindly check which issue you are facing in the above criteria and work accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
