What Causes Altered Sense Of Smell And Taste?

A few months ago I lost my sense of smell and taste. I am waiting for an MRI and have just received the results of my CT scan. They said results were mostly normal however are concerned with the discovery of impacted wisdom teeth. Could the wisdom teeth have anything to do with the loss of my smell and taste?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that loss of sense of taste and smell is not associated with impacted wisdom tooth while can be due to causes like side effects of any medication, zinc deficiency, nerve damage, head injury, sinus disorders etc..

So my suggestion is to consult a Neurophysician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like MRI Scan can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
