General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Abnormal menstrual bleeding can be caused by various factors such as hormonal imbalances, pregnancy, stress, thyroid problems, fibroids, polyps, endometrial cancer, medications, STDs, and certain medical conditions.

In your case, light brown or light pink discharge after a period could be due to hormonal fluctuations, implantation bleeding (if you are pregnant), or a sign of a minor infection. It's best to consult a healthcare professional to determine the cause and receive proper treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
