What Causes Abnormal Laughing In A Child Suffering From Cerebral Palsy?

My 3 year old daughter has mild cerebral palsy due to a neonatal infarct and has partial seizure disorder. Last night she went to bed with a fever (peaked at 40.8 but came down with Paracetamol). After being asleep about half an hour, she woke, sat up, laughed hysterically, led down then repeated 4-5 times before settling back to sleep. Her fever is much improved today, but I am wondering if the laughing could have been a type of seizure, or delirium from the fever?

Hi,

Control fever with syrup paracetamol and take EEG. Consult a neurologist with report for examination and advise on treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
