What Causes Abdominal Pain, Irritation In Rectum And Vaginal Odor?

I went to the doctor for a UTI and received medication for it. I also have burning in my rectum with pains in my lower part of my stomach. What could be causing the burning. Sometimes it feels like something in my vagina drips inside with an odor. Please help. Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

This could be disturbance of normal intestinal flora following antibiotics for UTI. It can cause constipation or diarrhea resulting in anal fissure to cause burning sensation or pain in the anus. Some times eating very spicy food with chillies also cause the same problem. Diagnosis needs direct physical examination. Please consult your doctor. For time being, prevent constipation, apply Proctosedyl ointment over the counter.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
