What Causes Abdominal Bloating, Insomnia And Loss Of Appetite?

My wife has been suffering from bloating, pain and burning after eating or drinking anything, even water. She has been having these symptoms for years. She has had 2 endoscopes, a colonoscopy and a catscan. Nothing has been found. She also suffers from depression, anxiety, insomnia, and loss of appetite. Could her depression and anxiety affect her digestive system to the extent of her symptoms?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The endoscopy, colonoscopy and CT would have looked at the large and small intestines, stomach and other organs in the abdomen to determine if there was a structural cause for the symptoms.

It is definitely possible that her depression and anxiety are playing a major role in her symptoms.
It may also be related to particular ingredients/foods , so a food diary should be kept for at least 5 days.

The side effect profile of any medications that she is using should be examined to see if any of them can cause these effects

I hope this helps
