What Causes A White Spot Outside The Pupil In Eye?

i have recently noticed a small white spot on my eye just outside the pupil...i also have redness in the same eye....i wear contacts and thought it could be just some protein, and i have been using sterile saline drops...but the spot is still there..along with the redness.....what could this possibly be?

hi dear

what i can understand from your question is that what you are mentioning is pterygium in conjunctiva which usually occurs just next to cornea.

this can sometimes get inflammed which may or may not require anti inflammatory eye drops depending on intensity

also it may be excised surgically if it encroaches cornea significantly or irritates a lot or even for cosmetic reasons

it usually does not subside and may not progress also
stay cool
nothing to worry about

good luck
