What Causes A Temporary Vision Loss?

I'm an overweight 23 year old female recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism* after going to the ER for what I thought was a possible TIA. I woke up to hour long vision loss in both eyes (blurry vision), and the right eye was significantly worse than the left. I've also been having (intermittent) pulsatile tinnitus these last few months in my left ear. My (head) CT scan at the ER was clean. Could I still have had a TIA? I suspect I have a narrowed artery... but wouldn't the CT scan detect something like that?
