What Causes A Small Painful Lump In The Armpit After An Arthroscopy?

I just got arthroscopic shoulder surgery on my right shoulder and there is a pea sized lump that is painful in my armpit. I was just wondering if I should tell my doctor or be worried? my surgery was about 7 days ago and I just realized the lump today.

Hello,

Probably the lump may be a lymph node that is formed during procedure.
I think you can just keep it in observations. If it doesn't grow bigger or bother you there is nothing to worry about.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
