What Causes A Reddish Patch On The Back Of The Knee?

I have a large red spot on my hamstring that looks like a big bruise. It is bigger than it was yesterday. Just returned from the doctors while on vacation and was told it could be an infection and was given an antibiotic. It is the size of a soft ball and feels warm to touch. Any thoughts? Jeremy

Hi,

You should get it reviewed by a n orthopedic surgeon as it can be bakers cyst and may need anti inflammatory drugs as well as work up with ultrasound or MRI or CT scan and surgical intervention if doesn't subside.
