What Causes A Red Lump On Vaginal Wall?

I m 12 weeks pregnant with my third child. I have a bulge protruding from my vagina when I am upright too long or on the toilet. Literally from inside my vaginal wall a pink to red bulge. I m not sure if it s a rectocele or cyatocele or even a uterine prolapse. My doc seemed unconcerned on the phone. Should I be as mellow?!

Hi,

A red lump on the vaginal wall can be caused by a variety of conditions, and it's important to get a proper diagnosis from your doctor. Some possible causes include cysts, abscesses, genital warts, or a Bartholin's gland cyst. However, given your pregnancy, it's important to rule out any potential obstetric complications.

A rectocele or cystocele can cause bulging or protrusion of the vaginal wall, and uterine prolapse can also cause a bulge. These conditions occur when the supporting tissues of the pelvic organs become weakened, which can happen during pregnancy and childbirth.

While your doctor may have seemed unconcerned on the phone, it's important to follow up with them in person to discuss your symptoms and undergo a proper evaluation. They may recommend an examination, ultrasound, or other tests to determine the cause of the bulge and ensure that there are no underlying complications.

If you experience any pain, discomfort, or changes in your vaginal discharge or bleeding, seek medical attention immediately. In the meantime, it's a good idea to avoid heavy lifting, straining, or prolonged standing or sitting to prevent further stress on the pelvic floor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hi,

It's difficult to diagnose the cause of a red lump on the vaginal wall without a physical examination. However, based on your description, it could be a prolapse of the bladder (cystocele) or rectum (rectocele), which can occur due to weakened pelvic muscles. These conditions are relatively common during pregnancy due to increased pressure on the pelvic region.

It's important to follow up with your healthcare provider to get a proper diagnosis and determine the appropriate treatment if needed. While your doctor may not seem concerned on the phone, it's always better to be proactive about your health and seek medical attention when you have concerns.

In the meantime, it may be helpful to do pelvic floor exercises (Kegels) to help strengthen your pelvic muscles and reduce symptoms. Avoiding heavy lifting, straining during bowel movements, and prolonged standing or sitting can also be helpful.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
