What Causes A Painful Lump On The Head After An Injury?

Hi, my name is Nola and yesterday I hit the top of my head on the freezer door handle and I have a good size knot. As soon as I hit it there was sever pain in my head and right ear. Now my head is still hurting rather badly, and I m have pain in the base of the neck down into my neck.

Hi,

Noted the history of getting a hit on head, lump, pain, neck pain.
It seems that the handle hit the area with a large nerve in the scalp causing severe pain that got referred to the ear too.
The hit was sudden hence affected the neck too causing the neck pain.
The lump is obviously due to blood accumulated under the skin adding to the pain.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Apply ice on the affected area.
Take an anti-inflammatory medicine with painkiller properties like Ibuprofen if it suits you.
Consult a Doctor to make sure the effects and get additional treatment as would be suggested and additional investigation as needed and advised.
