What Causes A Lump In The Breast And Darkening Of Nipple?
A couple of days ago I noticed a lump in my breast . It was painful and movable so I believe it was a cyst . I spent a lot of time messing around with it trying to see if it would move and how big it was . Today , I noticed that the nipple on the same breast was much, much darker than the other one .
I can understand your concern. I agree with you in believing it to be a cyst from the symptoms you have described, but it should be infected as normally cysts are painless and do not hurt. Alternatively, it could be an infection in the glands of breast that may need antibiotic treatments.
You can Cefixime 200 mg (Topcef) twice a day for five days and see if symptoms improve. If it would be infection, it will be resolved by the time the course of these medicines is over. If you are suffering too much pain, you can take Acetaminophen 500 mg or Ibuprofen 400 mg when you need it.
It is hard to reach a confirmed diagnosis without physically examine the area. Thus, I would advise you to visit a physician or gynecologist for the physical examination of the area for diagnosis and management if these antibiotics don't work.
