What Causes A Hot Flush?

Hi. I'm 58yrs old. 15yrs ago I had a hysterectomy, and since then have been having awful hot flushes even though I am using HRT. I am being treated for Rheumatoid Arthritis, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Could this medication be causing the hot flushes?
