What Causes HSV-2 Infection?

Hi, i was recently diagnosed with hsv2 im just curious if its on my medical history and if its actually private?? I received a letter from my insurance company asking for a release of lab works. I do not want to be reminded everytime i go to the doctors. I am very ashamed and very scared about it leaking or someone getting a hold of it.

Hello,

It depends on the test. The blood test is sort of kind of worthless. HSV causes mild blisters.

It can occur on the lips and most people have latent viruses thereby adolescence whether or not they know it or have cold sores. It can occur on the genitals and rarely, anywhere else you get the virus through the skin.

Genitals and mouths have thinner skin. The blood test is not very reliable on telling the type.

In some geographic areas, type 2 is much more common in genital and type 1 more common with oral but this isn't true everywhere, and you'd have to get the virus isolated and grown to verify which type it is.

Each place is supposed to give you a full account of their privacy records and policy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
