Hi,

Starting Thyronorm will not affect the pregnancy. There might have been some occult hypothyroidism symptoms or signs that your doctor noticed. There may be increase in TSH during pregnancy as the requirement of T3 and T 4 increases and these levels also should be considered as lowered levels may need to increase the doses of Thyronorm. Hence, repeat Free T3, Free T4 and TSH after one month so that your doctor will help you to have proper doses as required or stop the medicine. Avoid stress and anxiety during pregnancy to avoid adverse effects. Be calm and quiet. Follow the instructions of your gynecologist and doctors.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
