What Cause Bipolar And Can Lorazepam Help To Treat It?

hello, my 36 yr old son has been told he has bipolar.they have him on so many different meds. he just called me & said he doesnt know if he can handle life anymore,its just too hard.but he has 4 children & i think he hangs on for them.it seems as they prescribe him meds & just send him on his way!hes taking larazapan..cogentin..& a few more .I told him all the meds they give him all do different things & its like a tug of war in his head.have you got any suggestions?my heart hurts for him

As this disorder is characterized by episodes of depression and mania, it is necessary to take antidepressants coupled with anti-psychotic drugs.

From the other hand, anti-epileptic drugs (valproic acid, carbamazepines) can be used in addition to help maintain a humor stability.

That is why he is taking a lot of drugs: because they act in relieving different symptoms of his medical condition.
