What Can Pink Discharge After Attaining Menopause Refer To?
I am 66. in late 2012 and again a year later i had pink show (that's all i know to call it) when i wiped myself after urinating. preceding this is an intense heaviness inside me that forces me to sit on the toilet to ease the pressure i' feeling when standing. it happens several times in a day and the next day not so many times. pink show doesnt appear every time i'm forced to sit on the toilet. i literally cannot stay standing when it comes on. it has now happened again twice in Dec 2013 and I'm getting a bit worried. when i mentioned it to my doctor he said it was probably due to walking a lot. i've always walked a lot. i was due for a pap exam and he said i could skip it since i didnt have a bad report from the year before. this, even after i told him about the "show". what do you think it is? thank you for your time, kate
It is understandable to be concerned. A pink tinge to any secretion usually implies the presence of blood.
If you are seeing the pink colour on wiping after urinating , it is most likely related to the urinary tract. This can be confirmed by sending a sample of urine to the lab for testing.
In addition, an ultrasound of the genital urinary tract may be done to rule out any structural changes to either the urinary tract or the reproductive organs (uterus mainly).
I hope this helps
