What Can I Do For Widespread Muscle Twitching, Paresthesia And Globus?

I am 62 yr old female. For 6 months I have had widespread muscle twitching, paresthesia (sensations like an insect crawling on my skin) and globus. The globus is gone now. I am on zoloft again 50 mg for GAD but the musclt twitching in my feet and legs is driving me nuts. What can I do?

Hi,

It seems that probably you might be having delusion of parasitosis. It is a delusional psychiatric condition in which patient feels that he has crawling insects on the skin. Actually, there may be nothing. And patient feels paresthesia any where on the skin. You consult dermatologist or psychiatrist for firm diagnosis and treatment. Antipsychotic drug like pimozide or olanzapine may be taken for long time under supervision of doctor. You may be alright after few months treatment. Have patience and take regular treatment. I hope you got my answer.

Thanks.
