What Can Explain Scanty Period And Cramps While Taking Levora?

My girlfriend is having a very strange period. She is on Levora and she has been taking them at the same time everyday. On her off week though she experienced only a little bleeding on the first day off for that week. She is still dealing with cramps and nausea, please tell me that this is normal.

OBGYN 's  Response
Hello,
If she is on her first month of the pills and if you did not use any additional protection during the month, please exclude/confirm pregnancy through an assessment of the serum beta-hCG titres. If negative, this could mean the hormone imbalance which is a common side effect of pill usage. Regular monitoring with occasional tests for liver and kidney function and coagulation profiles would suffice. The cycles usually stabilize in a couple of months. Hope you find this information useful. Take care.
