What Can Cause Premature Labor Or Late Miscarriage?

Hi, I am pregnant with my 2nd baby, after giving birth I was told I had subseptate cavity with a septum occupying the upper third of the cavity. my obstetrician says as there was enough room for my first baby that I need not worry, but she was born at 37 weeks (emergency c section for pre-eclampsia) and was only 6 pounds (she was transverse until 36 weeks and then turned head down). My current pregnancy is 32 weeks, head down but at the top of the growth scale (off scale in some areas) so I am still very concerned about prem labour or late miscarriage. Do I have reason to be concerned???? thanks. I am 43 and a current weight of 12stone 6 pounds and I am 5 foot 7 inches tall.

Hello,
thanks for using health care magic

You do not need to be worried at all

Weight gain in fetus is marked from the 30th week and so you should have less concern about growth/weight. Enough rest, healthy feeding etc will help increase the baby's weight.

At 32 weeks, you can not talk of a miscarriage any more as children born of that pregnancy age have a much greater chance of surviving. In two weeks time i.e. at 34 weeks the child's lungs will be mature and if you deliver at that age, the child will have a more than 99% of surviving.

The c section was indicated for pre-eclampsia and not because the of the uterus. so you definitely do not need to worry at all.

Best regards
